Beverlee B. Black, 83, of Streator passed away Monday, February 13, 2017 at Parker Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Streator.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Streator, Illinois.
Born November 19, 1933 in Streator she was the daughter of Guy and Irene (Pearce) Powell. She married James Clanton. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by a son Richard Black of Gilbert, Arizona; grandchildren, Adam Black of Gilbert, Arizona and Brittany Black of Chandler, Arizona; great grandchildren, Milian and Kailey Black both of Arizona; sisters, Donna Pryor of Streator and Glenda Powell of Denver; and brothers, Glenn “Bud” Powell of Las Vegas, Nevada and Larry Powell of Streator; many nieces and nephews and cousins also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter in law, Kristine Black; and a sister, Martha Ivy.
Born and raised in Streator she attended Streator grade schools and graduated from Streator High School.
She was Registered Nurse and worked for many years as a private duty Nurse in the Chicago area. Through the years she lived in Streator, Chicago and Arizona.
A large source of pride in Beverlee’s wife was the fact that she was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She was a very active member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Streator.
