Evelyn M. Devera

Evelyn M. Devera, 95, of Streator passed away Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Heritage Health Therapy and Senior Care, Streator.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 A.M. Wednesday at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator. Msgr. Philip Halfacre will officiate.

Visitation will be from 9-11 A.M. Wednesday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

Burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Streator. Pallbearers will be, Ed Mollo, David Courey, Tom Nink, Mark O’Rourke, Stanley Kosmecki and Mike Novotney.

Born September 25, 1921 in Streator she was the daughter of Andrew and Mary (Fellner) Mollo. She married Joseph G. Devera on November 7, 1950 at St. Stephen’s Church, Streator. He preceded her in death on April 10, 2004.

She is survived by a son, Joseph A. Devera of Carbondale; a grandson, Blaise Devera of Kirkland, Washington and a brother, Edward (Marie) Mollo of Streator.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a sister, Margaret Courey.

She worked for Highland Food Market for over 25 years and later worked in the St. Stephen’s Grade School Cafeteria for 10 years.

She was a member of the former St. Stephen’s Church and currently belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Parish. She was a member of the “Holy Rollers” the Parish Lady Bakers and at St. Stephens for many years. She was also a member of the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association.

Evelyn loved to fish with her husband Joe through the years.

Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
