Irene Cripe

Irene Cripe, 70, of Streator passed away Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Heritage Health Therapy and Senior Care, Streator.

Funeral services will be at 12:00 P.M. Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator. Rev. Fr. Raymond Guthrie will officiate.

Visitation will be from 10-12 A.M. Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

Born March 4, 1948 in Streator she was the daughter of Dale Stillwell and Erika Wetsell. She married Richard L. Cripe, Sr. He preceded her in death.

She is survived by a daughter, Jennifer (Jim) Pottala of Allen, Texas; a son, Richard L. Cripe, Jr. of Streator; grandchildren, Jimmy, Brayden and Brody Pottala; her father, Dale Stillwell of Mesa, Arizona; step-father, Robert Keen of Streator; half-sister Lori (Bob) Hines of Mesa, Arizona; half-brother, Alan Stillwell of Scottsdale, Arizona, step-sister, Leann Liptak of Streator; step-brother, Robert (Tina) Keen of Streator; aunt, Shirley Bednar of Streator; several nieces and nephew also survive.

She was preceded in death by her mother; and step-mother, Phyllis Stillwell.

Born and raised in Streator, she attended Streator Grade Schools and Streator High School. She graduated from Woodland High School.

She worked through the years for Union National Bank and for the Streator Area United Way. She later worked for the City of Streator for over 20 years as the front desk receptionist. Anyone entering Streator City Hall was greeted by Irene’s friendly face.

Irene loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. A creative crafter, she enjoyed projects of all kinds including card making and scrapbooking. Irene valued friendships and stayed in close touch with her many friends throughout the years. She was greatly loved and will be dearly missed.
