Jeanette Myers Obituary

Jeanette E. Myers, 85, of Ransom (and more recently of Evenglow Lodge in Pontiac) passed away Monday, March 13, 2017 at O.S.F. St. James Medical Center in Pontiac.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at St. Patrick’s Church in Ransom. Fr. Anthony Ego will officiate.

Visitation will be from 4-7 P.M. Friday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator. The rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M. Additional visitation will be from 9:30 A.M. until 10:15 A.M. Saturday morning at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home.

Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Ransom. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Meghan, Brian and Lauren Cassady, Wyatt Griffith; and her great niece and nephew, Molly and Sean Brockman. Honorary pallbearers will be, Samantha Myers, Tyler Myers and Kendale Cassady.

Born August 22, 1931 in rural Ransom she was the daughter of John and Mary (Gorman) Daniher. She married William P. Myers on August 10, 1957 at St. Patrick’s Church in Ransom. He preceded her in death on March 17, 2005

She is survived by a daughter, Sherry (Mike) Cassady of rural Odell; a son, Dan (Sarah) Myers of Pontiac; grandchildren, Meghan Cassady of Schaumburg, Brian (Kendale) Cassady of rural Odell, Lauren Cassady of rural Odell, Wyatt Griffith of Pontiac, Samantha Myers of Pontiac and Tyler Myers of Pontiac; and a sister, Arlene Armstrong of Streator.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sisters, Frances Heddens and Mary Catherine DelFava and a brother, Kevin Daniher.

Born and raised in the Ransom area she attended a rural Country Grade School and graduated from Dwight High School class of 1949.

She worked for Lipton Tea Company for several years. She also, along with her husband, farmed in the rural Ransom area for many years.

She was a lifetime member of St. Patrick’s Church in Ransom and also the Altar and Rosary Society of the church.

Memorials may be directed to St. Patrick’s Church in Ransom or St. Paul’s Catholic School in Odell.
