Juanita G. Sauers

Juanita G. Sauers, 89, of Streator passed away Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Heritage Health Therapy and Senior Care, Streator.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 2, 2018 at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 2, 2018 at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Streator. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Benjamin Hanchett, Adam Northrup and Brian Northrup; son in law, Gary Northrup; nephew, Mike Nagle and neighbor, Wally Roach.

Born November 8, 1928 in Tonica she was the daughter of James and Hazel (Reeder) Zenor. She married Daniel R. Sauers on November 19, 1950 in Ottawa. He survives in Streator.

She is also survived by daughters, Julie (Gary) Northrup of Cadillac, Michigan and Debbie (Joe) Hanchett of Bloomington; sons, David (Terri) Sauers of Riverside, California and Neal (Michael Cruz) Sauers of Chicago; 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; a sister, Marlene Meckenstock of Denver, Colorado; several nieces and nephews; she is also survived by her beloved dog, Lilly.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She grew up in the Tonica and Ottawa areas. She graduated from Ottawa High School.

She worked through the years for Libbey Owens Ford and for many years at Top Save.

She was a member of the Pink Ladies at St. Mary’s Hospital and was also of the Presbyterian Faith.

Juanita loved animals, especially dogs of all kinds, and passed that passion on to her family.
