Katherine F. Jakupcak

Katherine F. Jakupcak, 96, of Streator passed away Monday, March 19, 2018 at Heritage Health Therapy and Senior Care, Streator surrounded by her loving family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. Friday at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator. Msgr. Philip Halfacre will officiate.

Visitation will be from 4-7 P.M. Thursday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator. The rosary will be recited at 6:45 P.M.

Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Streator. Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Paul, Stephen and Joe Strack, Robert Jakupcak Jr.; great grandchildren, Adam Jakupcak and Hunter Strack.

Born February 16, 1922 in New Orleans, Louisiana she was the daughter of Joseph and Madeline (Carbone) Rizzuto. She married Stephen R. Jakupcak on October 16, 1948. He preceded her in death on October 22, 2012.

She is survived by a daughter, Debra (Paul) Strack of Tonica; a son, Robert (Linda) Jakupcak of Streator; grandchildren, Paul, Stephen and Joe Strack and Robert Jakupcak Jr.; great grandchildren, Adam Jakupcak, Hunter, Hannah, Mary Kathryn and Grace Strack; one brother, Lawrence (Chris) Rizzuto of Jacksonville, Florida; and a son in law, Randy Oltman of Streator.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a daughter, Susan Oltman; and a grandson, James Oltman.

She worked through the years for Frank’s Jeweler’s, Seneca Shipyards, Lipton Tea Company and Owens Illinois Glass Company. She later worked for Guzzardo’s.

She was a member of the former Immaculate Conception Church and currently belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Church. She was also a member of the Altar and Rosary Society of her church and the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary.

Memorials may be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the charity of the donor’s choice.
