Marie C. Mollo

Marie C. Mollo, 88, of Streator passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Illinois Valley Community Hospital in Peru.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 A.M. Saturday at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator. Rev. Fr. Jacob Rose will officiate.

Visitation will be from 9-11 A.M. Saturday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

Burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Streator. Pallbearers will be her granddaughters, Jennifer and Michelle Mollo; a niece, Linda Blakemore; nephews, Josh and Zach Blakemore; and Paul Ahearn and Mike Burnett.

Born May 23, 1929 in Streator she was the daughter of Joseph and Frances (Depaci) Enno. She married Edward J. Mollo on October 28, 1950 at Immaculate Conception Church, Streator. He survives in Streator.

She is also survived by a son, Edward A. (Darcy) Mollo of Streator; granddaughters, Jennifer (Christie Kuszik) of Ormond Beach, Florida and Michelle (Niki Drane) Mollo of Ormond Beach, Florida; and a sister, Lila Southey of Streator.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Donna Hudron, Della Beningo, Frances Wissen, Rose Enno and Lena Enno; brothers, Anthony, Tom, Henry and Joseph Enno; sister in laws, Evelyn Devera and Marge Courey and a nephew, Anthony Enno Jr.

Born and raised in Streator she attended St. Mary’s Grade School and lived her lifetime in Streator.

She worked for Kresge’s Department Store in Streator where she worked the Soda Counter and met her husband to be, Ed as he delivered ice cream. They were married for over 67 years. She later worked for Lipton Tea.

She was a member of former Immaculate Conception and St. Stephen’s churches and currently belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Church.

She was also a member of the Streator Eagles Auxiliary and REAC (Retired Eagles Activities Club).

Memorials may be directed to St. Michael the Archangel School, Streator.
