Phyllis J. Chismarick

Phyllis J. Chismarick, 88, of Streator passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Heritage Health Therapy and Senior Care, Streator.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

Visitation will be from 9-11 A.M. Friday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

Burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Streator. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Don and Dan Beutke, Kevin, Jr and Patrick Chismarick, Tricia Novotney and Amy Jenkins. Honorary pallbearers will be, Ali Chismarick, Melissa Beutke, Jim Novotney, Dave Jenkins, Alyssa Chismarick and Michelle Wright; and a special friend of the family, Kristopher Ohligschlager

Born September 3, 1929 in Streator she was the daughter of George and Cecelia (Whitney) Lux. She married Raymond J. Chismarick on September 11, 1948 at St. Stephen’s Church, Streator. He preceded her in death on October 22, 2014.

She is survived by a daughter, Debbie (Ben) Beutke of Long Point; sons, Craig (Allison) Chismarick of Palm Harbor, Florida, Gary (Beckie) Chismarick of Streator and Kevin Chismarick, Sr of Streator; grandchildren, Don (Michelle Wright) Beutke of Streator, Tricia (Jim) Novotney of Streator, Amy (Dave) Jenkins of Streator, Daniel (Melissa) Beutke of Long Point, Kevin (Ali) Chismarick of Streator and Patrick (Alyssa) Chismarick of Streator; 13 great grandchildren; life-long friends, Doris Uratchko and Roberta Koral.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her step mother, Lula Lux; and a brother and sister in law, William and Lillian Lux.

Born and raised in Streator she attended Lincoln and Plumb grade schools and Streator High School.

She worked for Jero Black and Reed’s Canning Company and retired from Sunstar Foods. She was primarily a homemaker through the years.

She was a member of the former St. Stephen’s Church and currently was a member St. Michael the Archangel Church. She was also a life-long member of the Survivor’s Club.

Memorials may be directed to the Woodland Education Foundation or Illinois Brain Injury Clubhouse.
