Ronald Schoenenberger Obituary

Ronald E. Schoenenberger age 70 of Dwight passed away suddenly Friday (June 23, 2017) at his daughter’s home in Streator.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM Wednesday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator with Rev. Larry Booze, officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM Wednesday at Solon-Telford Funeral Home. Full military rites will be conducted by members of American Legion Post # 217 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 1492 prior to the funeral services at the funeral home.

Mr. Schoenenberger was born January 31, 1947 in Chicago the son of Richard Edward and Aldona (Gercis) Schoenenberger.

Ron had been employed as a machinist for R.R. Donnelley Co. both in Chicago and Dwight, prior to his retirement. He was an avid tennis player and instructor. His passion for tennis led him to be a world traveler, having attended tennis matches in various countries. He attended Chicago schools and was a graduate of St. Rita High School, Chicago. He served in the US Army in Korea during the Viet Nam era.

Ron is survived by one daughter, Kari Ann Dodge, Streator, two sisters, Susan Sherrie, Palos Heights and Nancy (Bill) Grizzle, Chicago Ridge, several nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Richard Schoenenberger.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Legion Post # 217 Streator.
