Ruth M. Reick

Ruth M. Reick, 84, of Streator passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Heritage Health Therapy and Senior Care, Streator.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 A.M. Monday at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator. Rev. Fr. Gregory Jarzombek will officiate.

Visitation will be from 9-11 A.M. Monday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator. The rosary will be recited at 8:45 A.M.

Burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Streator. Pallbearers will be, Chad Lynch, Ed Majercin, John Houch and Tom Lynch.

Born May 31, 1932 in Streator she was the daughter of Frank and Mary (Paulick) Elias. She married Amiel Leroy Reick on December 30, 1953 at St. Stephen’s Church, Streator. He preceded her in death on August 9, 1978.

She is survived by a daughter, Kathleen (Allen) McAllister of Streator; grandchildren, Chad (Theresa) Lynch of Streator and Shannon (Ed) Majercin of Streator; great grandchildren, Clayton Lynch and Trayton Majercin both of Streator; a brother, James (Debbie) Elias of Washington and a sister, Sally Snyder of Streator.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Francis Elias and a special friend, Charles Ehlers.

Born and raised in Streator she attended St. Stephen’s Grade School and graduated from Streator High School Class of 1950.

She lived in Streator her lifetime. She worked for Thatcher Glass Company from 1956-1992 until her retirement.

She was a member of the former St. Stephen’s Church and currently belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Parish.

Ruth was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. She also loved gardening and being in the outdoors.

Memorials may be directed to St. Michael the Archangel Parish or St. Michael the Archangel School.
