Scot A. Sauer, 59, of Chicago and formerly of Streator passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.
A celebration of Scot’s Life will be held Saturday, January 6, 2017 from 1-3 P.M. at the Knights of Columbus in Streator. Cremation rites have been accorded. The Solon-Telford Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Born July 18, 1958 in Streator he was the son of Richard and Barbara “Sis” (Terando) Sauer. He married John Gerald on October 11, 2014. He survives in Chicago.
He is also survived by sisters, Jane (Frank) Rakoczy of Streator, Lee Ann (Mike) Benedict of Streator and Suzanne (J.R.) McReynolds of Streator; brothers, Rick (Laurie) Sauer of Aurora, Randy (Sue) Sauer of Las Vegas and Steve Sauer of Streator; a cousin, Sally (Dan) Eggleston of Streator; many nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents; maternal and paternal grandparents; and his aunt and uncle, Phyllis and Harold Mackey.
Born and raised in Streator he attended St. Anthony Grade School and Marquette High School. He graduated from Streator High School. He has resided in Chicago for over 25 years.
He worked at Barnes and Reinecke for over 15 years. He was currently working for IDEO Design Company in Chicago.
He was formerly a very active member of the Engle Lane and the Happy Talkers. He was a fun loving person who always had a smile. He enjoyed fishing with his father in Wisconsin through the years.
