Thomas E. Pouk

Thomas E. Pouk, 64, of Streator passed away Monday, May 15, 2017 at O.S.F. St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Funeral services will be at 11:30 A.M. Saturday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator. Rev. Fr. Ray Guthrie will officiate.

Visitation will be from 9-11:30 A.M. Saturday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator. Honorary pallbearers will be, Bud Klein, Jerry Ftacek, George Sharisky, Jerry Senko and Mike Peterson.

Cremation rites will be accorded following the services. Inurnment will be held at a later date in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Streator.

Born May 12, 1953 in Streator he was the son of Richard “Gurk” and Betty (Longnecker) Pouk.

He is survived by brothers, Michael (Diane) Pouk of Streator and Richard “Dave” (Roberta) Pouk of Streator; nieces and nephews, Bridget Pouk of Streator, Travis Pouk of Streator, Justin Pouk of Virginia and Kristin Pouk of Streator; great nieces, Caitlin Pouk and Natalie Pouk.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and several aunts and uncles.

Born and raised in Streator he attended St. Anthony Grade School and graduated from Streator High School class of 1971.

He worked as a mechanic for Virl Z. Hill and JD O’Brien for many years. He later worked for Vactor Manufacturing for 25 years until his retirement.

He was a member of the former St. St. Stephen’s Church. He was also a member of the Streator Eagles Club, Streator Moose and the Msgr. George A. Dzuryo Knights of Columbus Council # 790.
