Victoria A. Obrohta

Victoria A. Obrohta, 101, of Streator passed away Monday, December 25, 2017 at Heritage Health Therapy and Senior Care, Streator.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator. Msgr. Philip Halfacre will officiate.

Visitation will be from 9-11 A.M. Friday the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

Burial will be in St. Casimir’s Cemetery, Streator. Friends and family members will serve as pallbearers.

Born December 23, 1916 in Streator she was the daughter of John and Sophie (Parzygnat) Ramza. She married John Obrohta on August 15, 1940. He preceded her in death on February 9, 2000.

Victoria lived a full life and was blessed with loving family. She is survived by sons, Jack (Francy) Obrohta of Tennessee and Ted Obrohta of Bloomington; grandsons, Bob (Lora) Obrohta and Tony (Heather) Obrohta also of Tennessee; great grandsons, Ayrton and Lance Obrohta: she is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, Louis and Frank Ramza; sisters, Mary Ramza, Kay Nycz, Josephine Hays and Clara Gura; brother in laws, Ted Nycz, Bill Hays, Walter Gura, Joseph Obrohta and John Niemchek; and sister in laws, Juanita Ramza, Jane Ramza and Anne Niemchek.

Born and raised in Streator Victoria attended St. Casimir’s Grade School and was a member of the school’s last graduating class. She was also the last surviving member of her class. She was last of her immediate family.

She was a member of the former St. Casimir’s Church and the Polish National Alliance.

Victoria was a homemaker and marvelous cook and seamstress. When a family get together was planned everyone would get in line for slice of one of her famous pies. Victoria was also an avid euchre and bingo player.
