Carol J. Jenkins, 83, of rural Streator passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at O.S.F. St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 A.M. Friday, March 22nd at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator. Rev. Bill Callister will officiate.
Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until 11:30 A.M. Friday, March 22nd at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Streator. Pallbearers will be Christian Miller, Charlie Jenkins, Tyler Jenkins, Patrick Chismarick, Craig Zan and Scott McQuen. Honorary pallbearers will be Alyssa Chismarick, Morgan Jenkins and Madilyn Chismarick.
Born June 13, 1940 in Streator she was the daughter of Roy and Pauline (Murray) Woodward. She married Carl E. Jenkins on September 1, 1962 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Streator.
She is survived by her husband, Carl Jenkins of rural Streator; a daughter, Carla (Scott) Miller of rural Streator; a son, Kevin (Margaret) Jenkins of rural Streator; grandchildren, Alyssa (Patrick) Chismarick of Streator, Christian Miller of rural Streator, Charlie (Morgan) Jenkins of Normal and Tyler Jenkins of Bloomington; a great granddaughter, Madilyn Chismarick of Streator; very good lifelong friends, Donna Schmitt and Erna Harms; nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Pam Zan.
She attended local grade schools and graduated from Streator High School.
She worked through the years for St. Mary’s Hospital, Owens and Thatcher’s Glass Companies. Her main focus was raising her family and assisting her husband Carl on the family farm.
She enjoyed mowing the farm property and attending and following her grandchildren in their various activities through the years. She was famous for bringing jello to all the family gatherings. She will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends.
She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
