Dick had a great zest for life and an incredible work ethic.  Born and raised in Streator he attended St. Stephen’s Grade School.  He left school after the 8th grade as the call to work was too strong. After several formative jobs he met the apple of his eye, Betty Yeager, while working at Illinois Valley Ice Cream.  They married on May 12th 1951 and together founded and ran Dick’s Floor Covering which still thrives and serves the community today. He and Betty lived the American dream. Dick was a gifted tradesman and entrepreneur. His grit was second to none and he never met a person without a big smile or a hug. As a husband, father, grandfather, and friend he left an indelible impact that we will carry through the rest of our lives

He was a member of the former Immaculate Conception Church and currently belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Church.  He was also a member of the Streator Country Club, Msgr. George A. Dzuryo Knights of Columbus Council # 790 and the Streator Elk’s Club.
