Bernard F. Rubrecht, 87, of Ottawa passed away Sunday, August 4, 2019 at his residence in Ottawa.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Saturday at Memorial Park Cemetery in Vincennes, Indiana. Fr. Simon Nadha will officiate.
Full military honors will be accorded at the cemetery.
The Solon-Telford Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Born May 31, 1932 in Washington, Indiana he was the son of Louis and Veronica (Joice) Rubrecht. He married Barbara Ramlow on August 4, 1975.
He is survived by his wife Barbara Rubrecht of Ottawa; a son, William (Kandace) Rubrecht of Geneseo; a grandson, Ethan Rubrecht of Geneseo; sisters, Barbara Ramsey of Vincennes, Indiana, Susie (Ron) Berberich of Chattanooga, Tennessee and Patti (Chet) Peierway of Grand Prairie, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Louis, Paul and Ralph Rubrecht; and a sister, Elizabeth Schultz.
Bernie lived in Indiana, Florida, Iowa and Illinois through the years.
He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War era.
He was of Catholic faith and previously belonged to St. John’s Catholic Church in Vincennes. He currently belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Vincennes.
