Carolynn J. Yuhas

Carolynn Jane Yuhas, 82, of Streator passed away peacefully Sunday, August 4, 2019 at her residence in Streator surrounded by family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 A.M. Friday at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator.

Visitation will be from 4-7 P.M. Thursday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator. The rosary will be recited at 6:45 P.M.

Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Streator. Pallbearers will be Nicholas Watkins, Jason Watkins, Aaron Morrow, Hal Yuhas, Rob Schmidbauer, Seth Spangler and Mike Kascak.

Born December 14, 1936 in Streator she was the daughter of Edward and Bertha (Duffy) Dyas. She married Francis D. Yuhas on May 31, 1958 at Immaculate Conception Church. They were married by Fr. Cahill.

She is survived by her husband Francis Yuhas of Streator; daughters, Christa Kauchak of Kankakee and Linda (Ray) Watkins of Jacksonville; a son, Dan (Julie) Yuhas of Putnam; grandchildren, Jennifer (Aaron) Morrow of Downers Grove, Nicholas Watkins of Jacksonville, Joshua (T.J.) Kauchak of Manteno and Jason Watkins of Hudson; great grandchildren, Jace Watkins, Magnolia Watkins, Sebastian Watkins, Clara Morrow, Francis Morrow and Braylynn Kauchak; a sister, Barbara Lewis of Streator; several nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, William and Donald Dyas.

Born and raised in Streator she attended Streator grade schools and graduated from Streator High School in 1955.

She worked in the Streator United Way Office for many years.

She served on the Marquette High School Board and was also an active volunteer at St. Mary’s Grade School through the years.

She was a member of the former Immaculate Conception Church and currently belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Church.

Memorials may be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
