Charles Smith Obituary

Charles W. Smith, 72, of Streator passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2019 at his residence.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator. Rev. Rodney Kreier will officiate.

Visitation will be from 9-11 A.M. Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

Burial will be in Phillip’s Cemetery, Streator. Cremation rites have been accorded.

Born June 1, 1947 in Decatur he was the son of Charles and Evelyn (Berry) Smith.

He is survived by a daughter, Carrie (Ryan) Schmitz of Streator; sons, Charles (Dawn) Smith of Streator and Troy Smith; grandchildren, Ashley Smith, Grace Schmitz, Anna Schmitz and Sam Schmitz; Jaiden and Caden Smith; a sister, Karen (Bill) Clayton of Streator; and brothers, Dave (Georgia) Smith of Streator and Roger Smith of Streator.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandchildren, Amber and Eric Smith; and a brother, Morris Smith.

Charlie was raised in the Streator area and attended Woodland Grade School and Woodland High School.

He was a Laborer for over 50 years working out of the Laborer’s Union Local 393.

He was a member of the Screaming Eagles Motorcycle Club and enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He also loved gardening.

Charlie loved his family and especially his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by his loving family.

Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
