Clara L. Svetz, 96, of Streator passed away peacefully Monday, June 4, 2018 at her Evergreen Assisted Living in Streator.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 P.M. Monday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.
Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the services on Monday at the funeral home.
Cremation rites will be accorded and private family burial will be held at a later time.
Born August 25, 1921 in Alton, Illinois she was the daughter of Wilber and Clara (Scott) Clark. She married Robert G. Svetz on November 9, 1946. He preceded her in death on June 26, 2013.
She is survived by daughters, Deborah (Donald) Rolando of Coal City, Mary (Arthur) Ingle of Chandler, AZ; grandchildren, Nicholas and Christopher Ingle of AZ, Lindsey (Christopher) Baron of Joliet; great grandchildren, Camden, Alexandra and Emma Baron; a brother, Gerald (Yolanda) Clark of Corpus Christi, TX.; and her beloved cat, Snowflake.
Clara was raised in the Streator area attending Streator grade schools and graduating from Streator High School in the class of 1940.
She worked for Owens Illinois Glass Company through the years but was primarily a homemaker.
She was a member of the former Immaculate Conception Church. She was also an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a lover of books.
Clara loved spending time with her beloved family and will be dearly missed by them.
