Donna M. Murphy

Heaven gained another Angel when Donna M. Murphy, 72, of Streator passed away Sunday, November 17, 2019 at O.S.F. St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Friday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator. Rev. John Gutz will officiate.

Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. Friday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

Cremation rites will be accorded following the services. Private family burial will be held at a later date at Science Ridge Cemetery in Sterling, Illinois.

Born December 15, 1946 in Rock Falls she was the daughter of Walter “Bluie” and Mary Lou (Seidel) Jackson. She married Kenneth D. Murphy on April 29, 1979 in Dixon, Illinois.

She is survived by her husband Kenneth D. Murphy, Sr. of Streator; daughters, Mellissa Leopold, Crystal Jeffries and Kandy (Ronald) Meyer all of Streator; siblings, Kathy “Cook” (Don) Lewis, Wendy Jackson, Andy (Colleen) Jackson, Angel (Steve) Eigsti and Bruce (Marsha) Jackson all of the Sterling/Rock Falls area; many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews and nieces also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Kenneth D. Murphy Jr.; and siblings, Danny Jackson, Susie Jackson and Greg Jackson Sr.

Born and raised in Rock Falls she attended local grade schools and graduated from Rock Falls High School.

She was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Streator.

She lived in the Rock Falls/Sterling and Washington State areas through the years. She moved to Streator in 1998.

Donna was the oldest child in her family so she helped to raise her siblings at a very young age. She then raised her own family and was also helping to raise her grandchildren. She loved her family very much and especially loved the babies. She will be dearly missed by her loving family.
