Dorothy Jean Hall, 93, of Streator passed away Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Heritage Health Therapy and Senior Care, Streator.
Mrs. Hall was born at St. Mary’s Hospital in Streator on July 25, 1924, the daughter of Ervin Plimmer and Alma (Roland) Plimmer. She resided all of her early life in the area of Streator known as “Twister Hill”. She received her early education at the old Grant School and graduated from Streator High School with class of 1942.
Dorothy married her high school sweetheart, William G. Hall on November 24, 1946 after his return from Naval Services in WWII and they were married for 50 years. Mr. Hall died on February 10, 2005.
Mrs. Hall is survived by two children, a daughter, Bonnie Nagle of Streator and a son, William E. Hall of Streator. A daughter Lori Ellen passed away in infancy. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Melanie Bakalar of Ottawa and Tommy Nagle of Streator; and one great grandchild, Katelynn Jo Gray of Ottawa.
In 1974 the Halls moved to Lincoln, Illinois where they resided until Mr. Hall died and Mrs. Hall returned to Streator in 2011.
Mrs. Hall was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Streator.
Cremation rites will be accorded and a private graveside service will be held in Riverview Cemetery at a later date for both Mr. and Mrs. Hall. Rev. William Callister will officiate. The Solon-Telford Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
