Dorothy E. Wahl

Dorothy Elaine Wahl, 91, of Ottawa, passed away Saturday, May 26, at the Pleasant View Nursing Home in Ottawa. She was born at home in Naplate, IL on August, 9, 1926, to Robert J. Wahl and Belva Jane (Bute) Wahl.

Private family funeral services will be held at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator with burial in the Grand Ridge Cemetery

Dorothy lived in the local community all of her life, split between growing up in Grand Ridge, then moved to Ottawa in the latter part of her life.

She attended a one room school house, Patty Ridge, for her elementary education and Grand Ridge High School for three years, then graduating from Streator High School with honors. She also attended Brown’s School of Business in Streator, IL and the Rockford School of Business in Rockford, IL.

Dorothy worked for a number of years at CTS Knight, an electronics manufacturing company in Sandwich, IL.

She was an avid reader, enjoyed working in her yard, and was especially happy when spending time socializing with her family .

She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Gertrude E. Thomas, of Los Angeles, California and Virginia L. Turner, of Ottawa, IL.

She is survived by her nephew, Robert L. (Jackie) Turner Sr. of Manville, IL,

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.
