Gary H. Elliott

February 16, 1942 ~ April 14, 2018 (age 76)

  Gary H. Elliott, 76, of Streator passed away Saturday, April 14, 2018 at his residence in Streator.

  Memorial services will be at 7:00 P.M. Friday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.  Rev. Duane Kaufman will officiate.  Full military rites will be accorded following the services at the funeral home by members of the Leslie G. Woods American Legion Post 217 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1492.

  Visitation will be from 5-7 P.M. Friday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

  Private family burial will be held at a later date.  Cremation rites will be accorded.

  Born February 16, 1942 in Streator he was the son of Harvey and Irene (Hodges) Elliott.  He married Denise Moreland on October 3, 1985 in Ottawa.  She survives in Streator.

  He is also survived by a daughter, Lisa (Jan Lancaster) Renn of Bloomington; sons, Jeff Elliott of Streator, Steve Elliott of Pontiac, Cary (Dawn) Renn of Streator and Scott (Rich Barker) Renn of Oak Park; grandchildren, C.J., Tyler, Vaughn, Cara and Cheri; great grandchildren, Claire, Layla, Reagan and a baby boy on the way; a sister, Roma Walker of Streator; and a brother, Coy (Jan) Elliott of Streator.

  He was preceded in death by his parents.

  Born and raised in Streator he attended local grade schools and Woodland High School. 

  He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era.

  Gary was a pipefitter by trade.  He was also a truck driver for US Foods and NFI Logistics more recently.

  He was a former member of the Streator Eagles Club. 

  Gary loved taking long rides with his wife Denise on his Harley.  He also enjoyed bowling and golfing through the years.  His family was everything to him and he loved spending time with them especially his grandkids.  He will be greatly missed by them.
