Ileen N. Brown

Ileen N. Brown, 94, of Streator passed away Thursday, August 15, 2019 at Heritage Health Therapy and Senior Care, Streator.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. on Thursday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Streator.

Born July 20, 1925 in Aledo, Illinois she was the daughter of Harold and Louise (Ketchum) Nesbitt. She married Carl Brown on May 13, 1954. He preceded her in death on October 15, 1995.

She is survived by a step-son, Larry (Mary) Brown of Sugar Grove; a step-daughter, Cathy Ramza of Austin, Texas; 4 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and a god child, Deb Benning Chiappe of Bensenville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a sister and brother in infancy.

Born and raised in Aledo she attended Aledo schools. She also lived in Princeton and has been in Streator since 1961.

She worked in the Physical Therapy Department at St. Mary’s Hospital for many years.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

She was very active at Engle Lane through the years and she and her husband were the very first recipients of the William C. Schiffbauer award. She was also in the Gingerbread Players and belonged to the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary for over 90 years.

Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
