Irene T. Hall

Irene T. Hall, 96, of Streator passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at her residence in Streator.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 A.M. Monday at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator. Msgr. Philip Halfacre will officiate.

Visitation will be from 9-11 A.M. Monday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator. The rosary will be recited at 8:45 A.M.

Burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Streator. Pallbearers will be family members.

Born February 21, 1922 in Streator, she was the daughter of Michael and Mary (Staver) Handzo. She married Thomas E. Hall on April 3, 1948. He preceded her in death.

She is survived by a sister, Florence Shull of Streator; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sisters, Anna Washko, Mary Pouk, Catherine Elias and Margie Gehrke; brothers, George, Michael and John Handzo: she was also preceded in death by a brother in infancy, Andrew Handzo.

Irene was born and raised in Streator and attended St. Stephen’s Grade School. She also attended Beauty School.

Irene was a lifetime member of the former St. Stephen’s Church and currently belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Church. She worked out of her home for over 50 years as a hairdresser, owning and operating the Beauty Box. She was known for her great sense of humor and her exemplary hospitality as she entertained all that came into her home.

Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
