Jeffrey Q. Wonders

Jeffrey Q. Wonders, 56, of Streator passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at his residence in Streator.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the Central Church of Christ, Streator.

Visitation will be from 4-7 P.M. Friday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator. Additional visitation will be Saturday morning from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services at the Central Church of Christ.

Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Streator. Pallbearers will be his brothers, Ed and James Wonders; brother in law, Sam Bucalo; a nephew, Brandon Bucalo; father in law, John Roser; and friends, John Kettman, James Taylor and Mike Fasano.

Born June 26, 1962 in Streator he was the son of Paul and Carol (Delheimer) Wonders. He married Julia Roser on June 22, 2002.

He is survived by his wife, Julia Wonders of Streator; daughters, Madeline and Lillian Wonders at home; sisters, Joan (Randy) Buttry of Ottawa, Susan (Greg) Johnson of Streamwood and Melissa (Sam) Bucalo of Streator; brothers, James Wonders of Streator and Edward (Shari) Wonders of Streator; and his mother and father in law, John and Lori Roser of Kirkland.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Born and raised in Streator he attended St. Anthony Grade School and graduated from Streator High School in the class of 1981.

Jeff worked for the Illinois Department of Corrections through the years. He worked at Illinois Valley Youth Camp in St. Charles, Dwight and Sheridan Correctional facilities.

He was former member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Anthony Church. He was a member of Central Church of Christ.

He loved the history of cemeteries and was active on the Naramor Cemetery Restoration group. He was also an avid Buffalo Bills and Milwaukee Brewers fan. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and many close friends.

Memorials may be directed to the fund to be established for the education of Jeff’s daughters, Madeline and Lillian.
