Joan Davis Obituary

Joan K. Davis, 65, of Streator passed away Sunday, September 23, 2018 at O.S.F. St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M. Thursday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Thursday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

Cremation rites will be accorded following the services.

Joan was born on November 26, 1952 in Toluca Illinois to Wayne and Gertrude Snow (Whited). She attended Toluca High School. She married Darryl Ziegler Sr. and gave birth to their son, Darryl Ziegler Jr. in 1968. She remarried in 1978 to Royce Davis, the love of her life, after having their daughter, Guen in 1977. After moving to Streator, Joan began waitressing at a restaurant before going to work as a bakery/deli manager at Streator Foods where she enjoyed decorating cakes for many years.

Joan is survived by her husband, Royce Davis, her son, Darryl Ziegler, her sister Carol Wilkins, grandchildren: Sabre Verduzco, Logan Arwood (Ziegler), Courtney Davis, Jacob Bartelson, Alexis Avila, Alyson Ziegler, Kristen Davis, Lucas Corlett, Kamryn Anderson, and great-grandchildren: Carter Verduzco, Mia Hasche, Carson Hasche, Adriana Arwood, and William Bentley Arwood.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Gertrude Snow (Whited), brothers Ralph, Larry, and Dennis Snow, and her daughter, Guen Davis.

She was a lovable big hearted woman who was passionate about her family. She enjoyed her years playing bingo, fishing, shopping with friends and in her later years, playing with her great-grandchildren and watching the Cubs play on TV.

Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
