JoAnn Ellis

JoAnn Ellis, 86, of Streator passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at O.S.F. St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa.

Visitation will be from 4-6 P.M. Sunday, June 24, 2018 at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

She was born July 28, 1931 in Xenia, Illinois the daughter of Arville and Lillie (Leathers) Corry.

She is survived by two daughters, Terry Underwood of Florida and Kathy Ellis-Mose of Streator; a son in law, Vernon Mast of Streator; grandchildren, Bryan (Enie) Mast, Lori Fornero (Bill Weiss), Michael (Jennifer) Mast, Shane (Kellie) Workman, Alyssa Essman, Julia Underwood, Amber Mose, JoHanna Mose, Heart chosen granddaughter Michelle (Eddie) Grover; 17 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Carolyn Mast; a son, John Workman; sisters, Mildred Boston and Irene Forth; and brothers, Earl and Carl Corry.

Born, raised and educated in the Xenia area JoAnn located to the Streator area in the mid 1970’s. She moved to Florida with her daughter and son-in-law in 1996 returning to Streator this past February.

She worked as a Beautician out of her home for many years.

JoAnn was a loving and caring grandmother who always devoted herself to her family. She was an outstanding cook and was especially well known for her secret pancake recipe. She was a talented seamstress who made Barbie and Ken clothing for all of her grandchildren through the years. She will be sadly missed by her loving family.
