Josephine J. Bandura

Josephine J. Bandura, 92, of Streator passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at her residence in Streator.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 A.M. Tuesday at the St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator. Msgr. Philip Halfacre will officiate.

Visitation will be from 9-11 A.M. Tuesday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

Burial will be in St. Casmir’s Cemetery, Streator. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Jeff and Jake Bandura; grandson in laws, Mike Greenwood and Brad Morath; and nephews, Bob Jakupcak Jr. and Dan Bandura.

Born December 4, 1925 in Streator she was the daughter of Michael and Anna (Durdan) Jakupcak. She married Victor W. Bandura on September 27, 1947 at St. Stephen’s Church, Streator. He preceded her in death on April 18, 1982.

She is survived by sons, Thomas (Mary Ann) Bandura, Jerome (the late Karen) Bandura and David (Karen) Bandura; grandchildren, Tricia (Mike) Greenwood, Jeffrey (Sara) Bandura, Jessica (Brad) Morath, Laura (Darren Locke) Bandura, Brittain Bandura and Jake Bandura; great grandchildren, Ava Mae Bandura and Logan Morath.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, Michael, Andrew, John, Joseph and Steve Jakupcak; sisters, Mary Adams, Louise and Lena Jakupcak; a brother and a sister in infancy; a grandson, Adam Bandura; and a daughter in law, Karen Bandura.

Born and raised in Streator she attended Streator grade schools and graduated from Streator High School in the class of 1944.

She retired from Thatcher’s Glass Manufacturing in 1986 after 23 years of service. She later worked for Oogies Restaurant part-time as a cashier.

She was a member of the former St. Casmir’s Church and currently belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Church.

Memorials may be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
