Judith A. Gayon

Judith A. Gayon, 76, of Streator passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at O.S.F. St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:30 P.M. Saturday at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator. Msgr. Philip Halfacre will officiate.

Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Saturday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

Burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Streator. Family members will serve as pallbearers.

Born May 31, 1941 in Streator she was the daughter of James and Edith (Patton) Alderman. She married Richard R. Gayon on May 27, 1961 at St. Stephen’s Church, Streator. He preceded her in death on May 1, 2012.

She is survived by sons, Jeff (Kitty) Gayon of South Carolina and Rick Gayon of Streator; grandchildren, Levi Reeder, Katie Gayon, Zach (Jodianna) Gayon, Anna Gayon and Alex Gayon; great granddaughter, Brynn Gayon; sisters, Julie (Larry) Alderman of Oswego, Jane (Pat) Flynn of Pingree Grove and Jean Berenson of Pingree Grove; a brother, James (Nancy) Alderman of Georgia; and her beloved dogs, Izzy and Zoe.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Christopher Gayon; and a sister, Jackie Trenor.

Born and raised in Streator she attended Streator Grade Schools and graduated from Streator High School Class of 1959.

She was a homemaker through the years and a member of the former St. Stephen’s Church.

Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
