Lillian A. Surrock

Lillian A. Surrock, 88, of Streator passed away Monday, August 12, 2019 O.S.F. St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Bloomington.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 P.M. Saturday at the St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator. Pallbearers will be Mike Vagasky, Jim Blakemore, Ed Harr, Carlee Surrock, Jamie Roberts, Bob Benning, John “Bruce” Moore and Mike Poruba

Visitation will be from 10:30 A.M. until 12:30 P.M. Saturday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

Cremation rites will be accorded following the services.

Born July 18, 1931 in Streator she was the daughter of Edward and Anna (Pastarchan) Yanek. She married Edward C. Surrock on May 29, 1957 at St. Stephen’s Church, Streator. He preceded her in death on September 25, 2005.

She is survived by a daughter, Suzanne (John) Moore of Streator; a son, Paul (Fawn Centko) Surrock of Streator; grandchildren, Jamie Roberts of Streator, Carlee Surrock of Streator and Cody Graham of Peoria; a great grandson, Brenden Fleming; and a brother, Donald (Mary Ann Horaney) Yanek of Streator.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 11 brothers and sisters; and a granddaughter, Emily Surrock.

Born and raised in Streator she attended St. Stephen’s Grade School and Streator High School. She earned her G.E.D. in 1981, something she was very proud of.

She worked through the years at Lipton Tea, Owens Illinois Glass and Sunstar Foods. She later worked for the Streator Elementary School system as a lunch lady.

She was a member of the former St. Stephen’s Church and currently belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Church.

Memorials may be directed to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
