Marguerite T. Smith

Marguerite T. Smith, 97, of Streator passed away Sunday, August 18, 2019 at Flanagan Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Flanagan.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 A.M. Friday at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator.

Visitation will be from 9-11 A.M. Friday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Streator. Pallbearers will be Dan, George, Patrick and Adam Smith; Jonsey McMahan and Saul Moreno

Born July 19, 1922 in Streator she was the daughter of John and Margaret (Wright) Murray. She married George Smith in August of 1942. He preceded her in death on August 2, 2019.

She is survived by sons, Dan (Jennifer Zhang) Smith of Champaign and George Smith Jr. of Streator; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by sisters, Geraldine Murray, Genevieve Ingold, Bernadette Manypenny and Mary Catherine Hansen; brothers, Daniel, Richard and Leo Murray; and a sister in law, Beatrice Murray.

Born and raised in Streator she attended Streator schools and lived in Streator her lifetime.

She worked for Owens Illinois Glass for many years.

She was a member of the former St. Anthony Church and currently belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Church. She was also a member of the Streator Onized Club, Eagles Club and the V.F.W.

Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
