Mary M. Lucas

Mary M. Lucas, 95, of Streator passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at the private care home of Robin Turner where she had resided for the last 9 years.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Saturday (July 28, 2018) at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services.

Private family burial will be held at a later date at Phillips Cemetery, Streator.

Born May 17, 1923 in Hoytville, Ohio she was the daughter of John and Mary (Willavize) Schneider. She married Kenneth H. Lucas on May 4, 1942 in St. Charles, Missouri. He preceded her in death on October 16, 2004.

She is survived by sons, Roger (Denise) Lucas of Blackstone, David Lucas of Blackstone and Harold (Renee) Lucas of Hoffman Estates; 3 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, Donald, John, Ben, Ralph and Warren Schneider; and sisters, Mae Doughty, Dorothy Lock and Emily Schneider.

She worked for Streator Canning Factory and farmed along with her husband for many years.

She was of the Methodist faith.

Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
