   Patricia “Pat” Lou Dent, 73, of Metamora and formerly of Streator passed away Saturday, August 19, 2017 at her residence in Metamora after a brief illness.

  Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Thursday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator. Rev. Josh Gates will officiate.

  Visitation will be from 4-7 P.M. Wednesday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

  Burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Streator.  Cremation rites have been accorded.

  Born May 2, 1944 in Streator she was the daughter of Andrew and Margaret (Dawson) Juricek.  She married Jack Dent June 25, 1966 at St. Stephen’s Church, Streator.  He preceded her in death on October 26, 2004.

  She is survived by a daughter, Darnell (John) Garber of Low Point: a son, John (Angie) Dent of Gridley; grandchildren, Eddie Garber, Abigail Dent and Madelyn Dent; and a sister, Sue Ryan of Palm Harbor, Florida.

  She was preceded in death by her parents: her husband and her brother in law, Maurie Ryan.

  Born and raised in Streator she attended St. Stephen’s Grade School and graduated from Streator High School class of 1962.  She also attended St. Mary’s School of Practical Nursing in 1963. 

  She was a Licensed Practical Nurse for many years having worked for St. Mary’s Hospital, Heritage Manor Nursing Home and Streator Unlimited.

  She lived in Streator most of her life moving to Metamora in 2008 to be closer to her family.

  She was a member of the former St. Stephen’s Church, St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator and St. Mary’s Church in Metamora.  She was also affiliated with the Cazenovia Mennonite Church in Cazenovia.

    Memorials may be directed to the Jack Dent Memorial Scholarship or the Joey Gardner Foundation.
