Ronald Sirotnak Obituary

Ronald J. “Doc” Sirotnak, 77, of Streator passed away Friday, June 22, 2018 at Heritage Health Therapy and Senior Care, Streator.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 A.M. Friday at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator. Msgr. Philip Halfacre will officiate.

Visitation will be from 4-7 P.M. on Thursday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator. The rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M.

Burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Streator. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Jeff Studnicki and Michael P. Sirotnak; a nephew, Bill Goluba; and friends, Steve Martin, Michael Colter and Greg Johnson. 3rd Degree members of the Msgr. George A. Dzuryo Knights of Columbus Council #790 will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Born August 10, 1940 in Streator he was the son of Michael and Evelyn (Seaman) Sirotnak. He married Betty Jean Hert on August 3, 1963 at St. Stephen’s Church, Streator. She preceded him in death on December 27, 2015.

He is survived by a daughter, Cheri (Dan North) Studnicki of Streator; a son, Michael (JoEll) Sirotnak of Streator; grandsons, Jeff (Gina) Studnicki of Streator and Michael P. Sirotnak of Streator; Mary Ann (Jack) Perhach of Rogers, Arkansas; a great grandson, Theodore “Theo” Studnicki; also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a niece, Michelle Noegel.

Born and raised in Streator Doc attended St. Mary’s Grade School and graduated from Streator High School in the class of 1958.

He worked for Thatcher’s Glass Manufacturing for 33 years until 1992. He later worked for 10 years for Owens Illinois Glass Company retiring in 2002.

He was a life member of the Msgr. George A. Dzuryo Knights of Columbus Council #790, the Streator Eagles Club and the Moose Club.

Doc was an avid Cubs and Bears fan. He also enjoyed NASCAR. He lived for his family and they will dearly miss him.

Memorials may be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Schriener’s Hospital, Illinois Cancer Care and the American Alzheimer’s Association.
