Shirley A. Sphar

Shirley A. Sphar 75 of Streator died Saturday morning (September 7, 2019) at Pleasant View Luther Home, Ottawa.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator with Monsignor Philip Halfacre, officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 PM Tuesday at Solon-Telford Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Streator.

Mrs. Sphar was born July 28, 1944 in Streator the daughter of George and Mary (Szramek) Sharisky. She married Robert Sphar July 14, 1962 at St. Stephen’s Church. He preceded her in death October 29, 2015.

Shirley and her husband owned and operated Sphar Refrigeration for over 45 years. She was of Catholic faith and had been active with the Relay for Life.

She is survived by one son, Ronald (Tammy) Sphar, Streator, grandchildren, James Sphar, Peoria, Robert (Gabbie) Sphar, Bloomington, Michael Sphar, Lewistown, Justin Sphar, Roanoke, Stephanie Sphar, Streator and Tori Richardson, Streator, four great grandchildren, one sister, Kristie (Mel) Murray, two brothers, George (Karen) Sharisky and Richard (Dolly) Sharisky all of Streator.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, Barbara Trenor and two nephews.

Pallbearers will be Bobby, Jimmy, Justin and Michael Sphar, Mel Murray and Terry Trenor.
