Stella T. Elias

Stella T. Elias, 89, of Streator passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at O.S.F. St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. Friday at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator. Msgr. Philip Halfacre will officiate.

Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until 10:00 A.M. Friday at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator.

Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Streator. Cremation rites have been accorded.

The Solon-Telford Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Born October 12, 1930 in Newfoundland, Canada she was the daughter of Patrick and Hilda (Hann) Ryan. She was previously married to William Wright. He preceded her in death in 1979. She later married Robert Elias.

She is survived by her husband Robert Elias of Streator; stepsons, Robert (Francie) Elias Jr., of Streator, Steven Elias of Gridley and Donald H Elias of Streator; 7 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; sisters, Nellie Boylan of Maryland, Ann (Don) Tarrant of Newfoundland and Angela (John) Hanrahan of Newfoundland; and brothers, Michael (Margaurite) Ryan of Newfoundland, Patrick (Blanche) Ryan of Newfoundland and Anthony (Margue) Ryan of Newfoundland; a brother in law, James Wakeham of Newfoundland; several nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband; a son, Edward Wright; step-daughter, Luanne Martin; and sisters, Rosemary Ryan and Mary Wakeham.

She worked for Owens Illinois Glass Company from 1968-1990

She was a member of the former parishes of St. Anthony, Immaculate Conception, St. Stephen’s and currently belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator. She was also a member of the Eagles and VFW auxiliaries.
