Sylvia L. Wargo

Sylvia L. Wargo, 91, of Streator passed away Monday, September 3, 2018 at Heritage Health Therapy and Senior Care, Streator.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 A.M. Friday at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator. Msgr. Philip Halfacre will officiate.

Visitation will be from 4-6 P.M. Thursday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

Burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Streator. Pallbearers will be friends and family members.

Born September 15, 1926 in Streator, she was the daughter of Andrew and Helen (Kraplyan) Grivich. She married Robert G. Wargo on August 18, 1947 in Streator. He preceded her in death on April 7, 2001.

She is survived by a son, Steven Wargo of Streator; and a granddaughter, Jennifer (Phil) Tillman of Streator

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Mary Wargo; a son, Randy Wargo; a sister, Mary Grivich and a brother, John Grivich.

Born and raised in Streator, she attended St. Stephen’s Grade School and Streator High School.

She worked for Owens Illinois Glass for many years.

Sylvia loved her family very much and also enjoyed cooking and baking. She also truly enjoyed playing bingo through the years.

Memorials may be directed to the Activity Fund at Heritage Health or the charity of the donor’s choice.
