My family is so blessed to have had Bill in our life. The world isnt perfect. God doesnt tell us to love the world, he tells us to love Him. Bill was all about that. I first met Bill as a student of his sales training. I wasnt a salesperson, but I reported into sales after his (big corporate) company (Fed Sig) purchased the organization in Oshkosh that I worked for (Leach). The training that Bill provided spanned 3 days, and I took copious notes and was moved by every tail that he shared about his learning of sales. Bill knew how to reach into the hearts of people by find the pain/ heal the pain. When I was leaving his 3-day training, he stopped me and asked, How much money is our company paying you? (Awkward) I told him the truth. Then he said, I want you to replace me when I retire. ?? My 4-hour ride back to Oshkosh was on the phone with my wifetalking about what Bill said to me. I didnt know Bill and his heart back then, but over the next 5 years, every conversation that we had on the phone together, I recorded (he didnt know it). He taught me the details of EVERY Vactor dealer across the US that he spent his career learning. He taught me how to empower those dealers to grow and strive through basic selling tactics. He emphasized to me to drill into and understand their individual dynamics. (They are people.) Bill changed my life! If Bill hadnt picked me, I would NEVER have met soldiers like Mike Higgins, Mark Webber, and ALL the fine and loyal people from Elgin, Vactor, Fed Sig, and the many associated Dealer personnel and families. Munn was the master mind. (Fuck you, Don Arata.) (Sorry, I got a little carried away.) I have a couple of great stories about Bill and me that I wont bore you with here. But you can reach me at jsakschek@hotmail.com RIP Bill!! I told my daughter Franki a story tonight about you and she Googled you to see a photo and we landed on this thread with amazing photos that Ive NEVER seen! We are so blessed that you forced your way into our lives, Bill.

Most likely unknown to Bill, but he had one of the most profound influences of my life. As a freshman football player at Iowa, Bills motivational speech to the team changed the direction of my life. I love telling the story of Bill speech to the team that day. I never thanked him, but he is in my heart and in my stories about how great it was to be a Hawkeye.

Bill Munn is one of my oldest friends. We lived near each other at Black's at the U of Iowa. I took classes from him and he recommended me for my first job. After some success at this job I became a seaman and we took a memorable trip on a sailboat from Boston to the Cape. We got weathered in at Scituate and had a wonderful drunken evening! We have remained friends for all these years and it was just recently when I realized I haven't had a FB post from for a while, with him criticizing my politics, that I found this sad news. I loved him and will miss him. Captain Craig Bailey
