William F. Neumann

William F. “Bill” Neumann, 92, of Streator passed away Saturday, June 15, 2019 at his residence in Streator.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 A.M. Wednesday at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator. Rev. Fr. Ryan Mattingly will officiate.

Visitation will be from 9-11 A.M. Wednesday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery, Streator. Pallbearers will be family members.

Born February 8, 1927 in Streator, he was the son of Frank X. and Hazel (Snyder) Neumann. He married Suzanne Lyons on October 20, 1956 in Streator.

He is survived by his wife, Suzanne “Sue” Neumann of Streator; daughters, Ellen (Neal) Hightower of Streator, Anne (Brian) Duttlinger of LaSalle and Martha (George) Nukuto of Canton, Ohio; a son, John Neumann of Missoula, Montana; grandchildren, Jessica (Phillip) Washington, Quincy Hightower, Marques (Erin) Hightower, Rae (Dave Pavlick) Lathrop, Helena Nukuto, Abigail Nukuto and Kai Nukuto; 4 great grandchildren; a sister in law, Bonnie Neumann; brother in law, Dean LYons and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Phillip, Frank and Lawrence Neumann.

Born and raised in Streator, he attended Streator schools.

He served in the United States Army overseas in Italy.

He worked early on at Anthony Company in the Drafting Department. He was a partner with his family in FX Neumann and Son’s Concrete Products.

He was a founding member of Engle Lane Theatre and worked on the set designs for many years.

Bill was an artist in the community and worked on various projects through the years. He helped several contractors and homeowners with home designs/additions in the area. He also loved music and playing the piano.
