Carole L. Hagerty, 81, of Streator passed away Thursday, August 26, 2021 at O.S.F. St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington, Illinois.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator.
Visitation will be from 8:30 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Streator. Her grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Facial coverings will be required for all attendees.
Born May 24, 1940 in Streator she was the daughter of Jack and Lucille (McCormick) Moore.
She is survived by her sons, Michael Hagerty of Streator, Kevin (Nancy) Hagerty of Streator, Tim (Paula) Hagerty of Streator and Christopher (Elizabeth) Hagerty of West Point, Virginia; grandchildren, Kari (Ben) Benning of Streator, Michael (Susan) Hagerty of Oglesby, Patrick (Jessica) Hagerty of Yorkville, Kyle (Lakin) Hagerty of Goodyear, Arizona, Nate Hagerty of Streator, Zachary Hagerty, Haley Hagert and Brianna Hagerty all of West Point, Virginia; 8 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Joyce Robertson; and a brother, Robert Moore.
Born and raised in Streator she attended Plumb School and graduated from Streator High School in the class of 1958.
She worked through the years for the Streator Times-Press as a Business Manager. At the age of 50 Carol enrolled in the Nurses’ program at IVCC and became a Registered Nurse. She worked for St. Mary’s Hospital on the Medical Surgery floor until her retirement in 2006.
She was very active at Engle Lane Theatre through the years acting and directing in many performances. Her main starring roles were the productions of “Mame” and “The King and I”.
Family was everything for Carole. After her retirement she enjoyed watching her great granddaughter, Ava, the light of her life. She will be dearly missed by her loving family.
Memorials may be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
