Carolyn A. Dickey, 94, of Streator passed away Sunday, June 2, 2024 at her residence in Streator.

  Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. Monday, June 10th at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

  Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. Sunday, June 9th at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.  Additional visitation will be from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the services on Monday at the funeral home.

  Burial will be in Phillips Cemetery, Streator.

  Born September 26, 1929 in Streator she was the daughter of William and Angela (Aschinger) Lewis.  She was raised by her mother and step-father, Dr. Harry Campbell Hill who adopted Carolyn and her siblings.  She married Robert Jerry Dickey on July 2, 1949.  He preceded her in death on August 31, 2002.

  She is survived by her children, Mark Robert (Judith) Dickey of Raleigh, North Carolina, Eric David (Gabrielle) Dickey of Long Beach, California and Steven Hill Dickey of Streator; grandchildren, Sarah (Evan) Cordes of North Carolina, Colin (Katie) Dickey of Alaska and Meredith Dickey of New York; a special friend, Donna Roseboom of Streator; several nieces and nephews also survive.

  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Jean F. Hill and a brother, William G. Hill.

  Carolyn graduated from Streator Township High School in 1947.  She later attended the College of St. Teresa and National College of Education.

  A devoted house wife, mother and gardener she later developed an interest in black and white scenic winter photography.  Several of her photographs are framed and hang in her home.  She was also an avid reader.

  The family would like to send a special thanks to Carolyn’s caretakers, Donna, Linda, Mindy, Renae, Kate, Wendy and Andrea.  The special care that they gave to Carolyn will always be remembered by the family.
