Catherine M. Salisbury

Catherine M. Salisbury, 61, of Streator passed away peacefully Friday, December 7, 2018 at her residence with her sons by her side.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, December 15, 2018 at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator. Msgr. Philip Halfacre will officiate.

Visitation will be from 9:30 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. Saturday, December 15, 2018 at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator.

Catherine’s wishes were to have her body donated to science. Burial of her ashes will be a later date in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Streator.

Born November 9, 1957 in Streator she was the daughter of Daniel and Norma (Allen) Sedlock, Sr. She married Larry Salisbury in September 1977. They had two sons.

She is survived by sons, Cliff J. (Angela) Salisbury of Germantown Hills and Adam J. (Arin) Salisbury of Bartonville; grandchildren, Winnie Ellison, Harrison Brewer and Briar Adaline; sisters, Teresa (Mark) Painter of Bloomington, Sheryl Sedlock of Streator, and Christina (Louis) Hancin Jr. of Streator; brothers, Daniel (Elva) Sedlock Jr., of Harvard, Norman Sedlock of Streator and Bill (Irene) Sedlock of Streator.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Anthony Sedlock.

A lifetime resident of Streator she attended St. Mary’s Grade School and graduated from Streator High School class of 1975.

She had belonged to the former Immaculate Conception and St. Anthony Churches and currently was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator.

She worked for A.J. Testoni M.D., U.K. Sinha M.D., A.K. Roy M.D., HSHS Medical Group, and OSF Medical Specialty Group.

Cathy truly was a bright light in this world that extended to the lives of others. She will be remembered for her joyful and energetic spirit, selfless manner, and faithfulness to God. She was a proud mother of two sons – who she often referred to as “her boys” and grandmother to triplets with one on the way. She sought every opportunity to place her boys and grandchildren first. Because of her, they will have many memories to cherish. Her boys know she will continue to watch over them from her place in heaven.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to a memorial fund to be established for her grandchildren, St. Michael’s Church, the Neonatal I.C.U. at O.S.F. St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, or American Cancer Research.
