Coy A. Elliott

  Coy A. Elliott, 85, of Streator passed away Thursday, August 3, 2023 at Arcadia Care at Streator.

  Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 8th at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

  Visitation will be from 9-11 A.M. Tuesday, August 8th at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator. 

  Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Streator.  Full military rites will be accorded by members of the Leslie G. Woods American Legion Post 217 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1492.

  Born August 31, 1937 in Snap, Kentucky he was the son of Harvey and Irene (Hodges) Elliott.  He married Jan Kear on October 2, 1987 in Ottawa.

  He is survived by his wife, Jan Elliott of Streator; daughters, Patricia (Thomas) Decker of Long Point and Sandra (Gene) McMullen of Streator; a son, Curt Elliott of Forrest; 11 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and a sister, Roma Walker of Streator.

  He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gary Elliott.

  He graduated from Woodland High School.

  He served in the United States Airforce from 1955-1958.

  He worked through the years as a Contractor building numerous homes in the area.  He later built homes for Bob Appel and Wilderness Log Homes.  He also worked for RP Lumber, Superwash and Bill Walsh in his retirement years.

  He was an avid bowler.

  Memorials may be directed to the Streatorland Food Pantry, St. Vincent DePaul Society or O.S.F. Hospice.
