Daniel L. Olson

   Daniel L. Olson, 72, of Streator passed away Monday, August 1, 2022 at his residence in Streator.

  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator. 

  Visitation will be from 4-7 P.M. Friday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.  The rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M.

  Burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Streator.  Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Nick Olson, Colton Olson; and his god children, Eric Hayward, Jimmy Armstrong, Zach Johnson; and a nephew, Matt Wilson.  Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren, Justine, Nick, Colton, Cash, Chloe, Vivian and Leo Olson; Camden Anderson and Scarlett Harcharik; a great grandson, Dexton Olson.

  Born July 27, 1950 in Streator he was the son of Leo and Rosemary (Senko) Olson.  He married Michelle E. “Shelley” Biroschik on November 23, 1968.  She preceded him in death on May 14, 2004.

  He is survived by daughters, Dawn (Mike) Schmitt of Leonore and Stephanie (Dan) Harcharik of Streator; sons, Daniel (Lisa) Olson of Manville and Tim (Christine) Olson of Streator; grandchildren, Justine, Nick, Colton, Cash, Chloe, Vivian and Leo Olson; Camden Anderson and Scarlett Harcharik; a great grandson, Dexton Olson; sisters, Marge (Charles) Hayward of Streator, Teena (Randy) Dimmig of Texas, Linda (Bob) Wilson of Streator and Carol Olson of Texas; brothers, Ron (Betty) Olson of Streator, Joe (Jean) Olson of Colorado, Fred (Barb) Olson of Streator and Gary (Chris) Reynolds of Streator; numerous nephews and nieces also survive.

  He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

  Born and raised in Streator Dan attended St. Stephen’s Grade School and graduated from Woodland High School in the class of 1968. 

  He worked for J & L Steel which later became LTV Steel for 42 years until his retirement.
  He was a member of the former St. Stephen’s Church and currently belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Church.

  He was also a member of the George A. Dzuryo Knights of Columbus Council # 790.
