David J. Brown, 72, of Streator passed away Thursday, October 13, 2022 at the Ottawa Pavilion.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.
Visitation will be from 9-11 A.M. Friday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Streator. Cremation rites have been accorded. Full military rites will be accorded by members of the Leslie G. Woods American Legion Post 217 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1492.
Born May 15, 1950 in Streator he was the son of James Brown and Betty Stobs.
He is survived by his sister, Vicki McCumsey of Streator; his brother, Randy Brown of Streator; a nephew, Brad (Valerie) McCumsey of Christiansburg, Virginia; great nephews and nieces, Kacie (Dominic) Fawls of Alexandria, Virginia, Zachary McCumsey, Nicholas McCumsey and Lea McCumsey all of Christiansburg, Virginia; and a great-great nephew, John Henry Falls.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Debbie Brown.
Born and raised in Streator he graduated from Streator High School in the class of 1968. Following high school Dave was drafted into the United States Army where he served for a year in Vietnam. He later attended Southern Illinois University where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree.
He worked as an Auditor for the State of Illinois for many years until his retirement.
Dave was a very generous man who took great pride in helping out his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by them all.
