Diane M. Finnegan, 87, of Streator passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at O.S.F. St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 A.M. Monday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator. Rev. Fr. Ryan Mattingly will officiate.
Visitation will be from 9-11:30 A.M. Monday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.
Burial will be in the St. Anthony Cemetery, Streator. Pallbearers will be her son in laws, Robert DeWig, Dave Bandura and Tim McCoy; and grandsons, Jacob Bandura, Eric Barton and Brian McCoy.
Born August 14, 1932 in Chicago she was the daughter of John and Evelyn (Weis) Harcharik. She married Thomas M. Finnegan on April 14, 1956 at St. Anthony Church, Streator. He preceded her in death on July 21, 2003.
She is survived by her children, Julie (Robert) DeWig of Ottawa, Lori Barton of Streator, Karen (Dave) Bandura of Streator, Janet (Tim) McCoy of Streator and Michael (Andrea) Finnegan of Ottawa; grandchildren, Carly (Jeremy) Skillman, Eric (Jennifer) Barton, Jessica (Brad) Morath, Jacob Bandura, Brian (Jill) McCoy and Emelia Finnegan; great grandchildren, Eden Barton, Logan Morath, Kyle and Natalie McCoy; a brother, John (Joyce) Harcharik of Arizona; several nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her son in law, Jeff Barton.
Diane was a very active member of St. Anthony Church through the years. She was a member of the St. Anthony Church Altar and Rosary Society. She belonged to the church choir and also the Secular Order of the Franciscans. She also taught CCD at St. Anthony School for many years as well as working in the school office for a time.
Diane was primarily a homemaker raising her family but she also had previously worked at Anthony Company and Heritage Manor Nursing Home.
Diane’s family would like to thank the staff at Heritage Health Therapy and Senior Care for their wonderful care. They would also like to thank Diane’s caretaker, Donna Lee, for her exceptional care and love.
Diane was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be deeply missed for her family and friends.
Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
