Diane L. Pouk, 67, of Streator passed away Thursday, August 22, 2024 at her residence in Streator surrounded by her loving family.

  Funeral services will be at 6:00 P.M. Thursday, August 29th at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

  Visitation will be from 3-6 P.M. Thursday, August 29th at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

  Cremation rites will be accorded following the services.  Private family burial will be at a later date in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Streator. 

  Born October 31, 1956 in Streator she was the daughter of James and Lucille (Ondek) Swain.  She married Michael A. Pouk on October 15, 1977 at St. Stephen’s Church, Streator.

  She is survived by her husband, Michael Pouk of Streator; a daughter, Kristin Pouk of Streator; a son, Justin (Kara Branz) Pouk of Virginia Beach, Virginia; sisters, Jane (John) Soltis of Streator and Cheryl (Ralph) Pollett of Watauga, Texas; several nieces and nephews also survive.

  She was preceded in death by her parents; a nephew, Christopher Pollett; mother and father in law, Richard and Betty Pouk; and brother in laws, Dave and Tom Pouk.

  Born and raised in Streator she attended St. Stephen’s Grade School and graduated from Streator High School in the class of 1974.  She later earned her Associates Degree in Nursing from Illinois Valley Community College.

  She worked as a Registered Nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital for 36 years.  She was the Director of Nursing at Pontiac Correctional Center the last 4 years of her career until her retirement.  In her retirement she worked at Amy’s Gaming Parlor.

  She enjoyed shopping and especially Black Friday with her special shopping group including, Joan, Susie, Kristin, Patty, Donna and Lisa.

  A loving daughter, wife and mother she will be dearly missed by her family.
