Donald M. Lukach

  Donald M. Lukach, 93, of rural Streator passed away Friday, April 19, 2024 at the ARC of Streator.

  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator. 

  Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. Wednesday at St. Michael the Archangel Church.  Cremation rites will be accorded following services. Burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery at a later date. The Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator is in charge of arrangements.

  Born May 1, 1930 in Streator, he was the son of Michael and Anna (Yedinak) Lukach. He married Rita Foster, November 21, 1953 at St. Columba Church, Ottawa.  She survives in rural Streator.

  Donald is survived by his wife, Rita Lukach of rural Streator; daughters,  Debbie Myers and Denise (Kenneth) Morgan both of Streator, Diana (Craig) Schott, St. Charles, MO, a son, Donald (Michelle) Lukach, Clinton IL, 10 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and one sister, Nancy Baude, Mesa, AZ.

 He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Dawn Glisson, two sisters, Evelyn Taylor and Catherine Schomas and a son-in-law Larry Myers.

 Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

 He farmed in rural Streator his lifetime and was also a general contractor and carpenter as well as an avid woodworker. He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator, LaSalle County Farm Bureau. He was a graduate of Streator High School, class of 1948.

 In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to OSF Hospice or to St. Jude's Children’s Hospital.
