Donald W. Stacy, 73, of Streator passed away Thursday, August 21, 2025 at O.S.F. St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

  Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 26th at Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.  Father Jeffrey Small will officiate.

  Visitation will be from 9-11 A.M. Tuesday, August 26th at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator. 

  Burial will be in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Leonore.  Pallbearers will be Ryne Nicklin, Reese Nicklin, Charlie Stacy, Ryan Burling, Drew Schmitt and Dan Dooley.  Honorary pallbearer will be Ryley Nicklin.

  Born April 4, 1952, he was the son of C.J. and Mary (Ralrick) Stacy.  He married Paula (Schmitt) Stacy on April 20, 1985 at Park Presbyterian Church in Streator.

  He is survived by his wife, Paula; daughters, Stephanie (Ryan) Burling of Troy, Taylor (Hannah) Stacy of Princeton; grandchildren, Grayson, Griffin, Graham Burling; nephew, Charles (Cassidy) Stacy of Ottawa; great nephew, Carver Stacy; great niece, Ciara Stacy and Poppy’s buddy, Ridgey Roo.

  He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Dennis and Gary Stacy.

  Born and raised in Ottawa, Don attended St. Columba Grade School and graduated from Ottawa High School, Class of 1970.

  Over the years, Don worked for Englewood Electric, Variety Beverage, Illinois Fruit and Produce (U.S. Food Service) and retired from U.S.F. Holland in 2015.  After retirement, he kept busy by working part time for Streator Drugs, Flowers Plus and SCI Corporation.

    He was a member of the former St. Stephen’s Church.  He was also a member of the Streator Eagles Club #645 and the Msgr. George A. Dzuryo Knights of Columbus Council #790.

  Don had no greater joy than being around his family, especially his grandkids.  You could always catch him showing pictures of them.  He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
